Gear has a price; memories don’t

A friend of mine bought recently a Nikon D90. He’s planning a 6-days sailboat trip in Greece and he asked me if it’s ok to take the camera with him. He is worried about damaging the camera due to boat’s turbulences. Of course his worries are far beyond the truth. The build quality of those cameras is great and nothing shuffles inside them. He should be worried more about sea’s dampness which may corrode the camera’s circuits. But my point here is somewhat different. Of course you should be taking care of your gear, but not to the point where you are becoming overprotective and losing images. Gear has a price; memories don’t and don't repeat themselves.
